Thanks. :bow: ^^;
I remember doing "Magical Mystery Tour" faster than I should :P , specially ignoring the clothes. :giggle: However I prefer my new vectors (without blur and more details :typerhappy: ). I'm revamping this serie, it takes time (too much), but after Sgt Pepper, it will be this one and there's so much to do. :faint:

Thank you, but I did less than I would like to do (bodies, trees, rainbow), even if the result is... sufficient. :p

Ahah, I can't use all the Beatles serie I made for your contest. :rofl:

I think so. :bow: ^^;
Probably my current best (even if I like the individual portraits and the released first :) ).

I work on "Abbey Road". My idea takes shape slowly... I hope that the result will be... interesting (the art and the way to prepare the people for less than what they could imagine :rofl: )

That's why I take my time on "Abbey Road" ;) (and there's few interesting pictures about "Let It Be" ... although it's an amazing album...).

After that, I would let the Beatles for a while to create other things (I have some ideas and agreements :) ) ... but I eventually expect to do something about specific songs later if possible... :plotting:

Not sure again... probably among my favorites: hey jude, let it be, the long and winding road, blackbird, the fool on the hill... things like that...

Especially something for "Free As A Bird", even it's a post-Beatles... This one is so special. :happycry:

... but maybe I will do nothing... or another serie of portraits... :shrug:
... not yet, anyway... ;)

It looks fine the way it is! How do you do vector?(I don't mean you personally, just how is it possible)

:iconfoolecho:
FoolEcho Featured By Owner Dec 6, 2009
Short answer: :blahblah:
1) I use a dedicated software (freeware indeed) called Inkscape (I think that Photoshop is able to do the same thing but it's a professional tool... so it's expensive... and I'm not an artist)
2) I don't use the automatic tool to create the vectorization, of course :dummy:
3) I choose a picture that I like and I use different layers (for the lines, the shades and so on... it's easier to do corrections)
4) I draw by transparency using my loyal mouse and my falcon's eyes... :giggle: When the image is too darker or details are less visible... I try to draw by myself... :shrug:
...
For my own way, I do also:
a) A minimum of points for each shapes... using Bézier curves the most of time. In order to keep a kind of cartoon style and fluid style...
b) For the colors, according to the theme (eyes, skin and so on): one main + lighter and darker one.
c) glow and opacity for the illusion of shade when I want. So the final result is a mix between cartoon and realism. :)
d) the musical context... To draw the Beatles, I listen to the Beatles. :stereo: :dance:

The great thing about vector is the ability to zoom in/out without loss of quality because scalable vector graphics (SVG) use mathematics functions (and it's according to the displaying size). However the uploaded files are here in PNG or JPG because I can't (and doesn't want) provide the SVG source like that. If I could release SVG you could verify this kind of properties: [link] (in french, but it's for the pictures ;) ).

I hope that my english is sufficient to understand what I mean. :p

It's almost perfect. If you hadn't mentioned I wouldn't have noticed.
XD I think I'll stick to pixel art for now.

Moreover, there's another way to imitate vector. It called "vexel". See [link] for some explanations. ;)

Here, on Deviant Art, it's impossible to see the differences between vexel and vector art because it's impossible to release the real SVG (and a lot of don't seem to know the differences :shrug: ).

I prefer draw vector than vexel, because I can release a final PNG or JPG with no aliasing because I can zoom in/out without loss of quality.

You can try for sure. If you want to use Inkscape, you can download it for Windows OS [link] or directly with the package of your Linux distribution (if you are a :tux: user like me XD ). The basis for the documentation (in english) can be found here for sample: [link] .
